HAPPY BIRTHDAY BFF!

“It doesn’t even take a minute to tell a person that you care for them. However, it takes years to prove that to them. You are one person who has proved that you care for me time and again.” (Woah, we’ve been friends since kindergarten! How old are we again?)Thank you for everything – for being there, for trusting me, for being my friend and all. And karon kay 19 na ka….one year nalang, dili na ta teen! Hahaha..so enjoy life! Try new things, laugh, meet new people while at the same time holding tight to your principles and values.

So para sa akong silingan, classmate, ka-community, friend sa fb, bff and all…HAAAPPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  Have fun blowing out all the candles on your cake while you can still count them. XP

I am a Poet and This is My Story

Mute Expressions

Poet

I am a poet and this is my story

An essence of existence;
a silent observer of the night
A shadow that flickers in the dark,
fleetingly imitating life

Ephemeral in presence,
I write my story tonight,
before fading away, silently,
Into a world filled with light

I am a poet and this is my story

I am you, I am them,
and still, I am I
A memory, a thought;
Subconscious of form,
As dreamt by  your mind

I am right,I am wrong;
a dreamer, a lover;
melancholy and forlorn;
damaged and torn
I am hope;  a believer

I am this, I am that;
An ideal, an idol
a reflection of perception,
a by-product of creation
I am invisible.

I am a poet and this is my story

Words are my enemy,
they are my friend,
my strength, my weakness
they help me comprehend

They are my feelings,
they…

Rain

Do you believe in love, like I believe in the rain?
Walking down, hand in hand,
Through the pebbled lane.
So lovely it feels, such beauty around,
I am afraid if only my heart could contain,
the serenity that surrounds.

Do you believe in life, like I believe in the rain?
Wandering wild and free, not a  hint of refrain.
The birds for company, the creek for a guide,
The ever faithful shadow, forever by your side.

Do you believe in destiny, like I believe in the rain?
Rising up, falling down, again and again.
Shifting and changing, for nature has it’s way,
To test your limits and then, reward you one day.

Do you believe in miracles, like I believe in the rain?
So many forms, yet, just the one remains.
Born of a wonder, blessed with this life,
Make it worthwhile before flying back to…

Silver-lining For The Cynic

Mute Expressions

Every-cloud-has-a-silver-lining

Photo Source: http://desdevweb.com/wp-content/uploads/Every-cloud-has-a-silver-lining.jpg

I can write all I want,
like a mad man, an optimist,
a romantic to say the least
Wishing my words come true some day,
Wishing, when I’m lost,
they show me the way

While somewhere, deep inside, within my mind,
the cynic survives the test of time,
It lurks beneath my skin slithering like a snake
making its way into my heart when,
through the night, I lay wide awake

Every line I write feels so hollow to the eye
Every syllable I speak sounds like a lie
What tales of love will I tell you  dear friend
When I have killed the romantic inside?

Is there any hope for me,my friend,
A silver-lining I can pray for?
Or will I live this way for the rest of my time,
A Cynic, with my head and  heart,
Eternally at war?

Love

Love, for without it there is no joy
Like a nightingale singing, without its voice
Love, for without it there  is no meaning
Like a book, people pass without reading
Love, for without it there is no whole
Like a life that breathes, without a soul
Love, for without it, you exist and you perish
Like a firefly through the night,
That fades away and burns out
The moment it touches the morning light

In this world cloaked in darkness, let there be light
In the skies of freedom, let us take this flight
In this battle against tyranny, together let us fight
In the hearts of the young, this fire let us ignite
Let us stand together, hold our hands and march
Let us dream a world of hope, let us keep a watch
Let us free the little birds of dreams from their cage
Let us be the guide, let us be the change

Surrender

How would it feel?
To submit yourself to another
Completely powerless,
absolutely defenseless
No questions, no answers,
trust so deeply rooted
Buried within her bosom
you feel your senses
giving away the faces
of fear and doubts

The avalanche of emotions
raining through your eyes
it races, leaving traces;
A force so strong,
your will barely embraces
You have suffered
You were broken
not a word ever spoken
You have waited
seeking strength in patience
You have burnt,
You have frozen

But now you stay protected
Safe in her bosom
peacefully rested
Her arms around you
They will help you through
You can let go now
Submit yourself to the other
until the flowers of the sun wither
You hold onto her,
Surrender

Enrol vs Enroll

Enrol vs Enroll

The official paper of our university has announced the enrollment schedules this coming school year through their official facebook page. As I was reading through it though, keen as I am, i noticed a mispelled word (and that’s the word in bold above.) You see, when I was in high school , I was used to spelling it as enrolment. Then I searched for the reason why the spelling differs, and ~sigh… it lead me to one of the most well-known reasons why most words are spelt differently, one’s in British spelling and the other is in American. Phew! New knowledge… (or perhaps I wasn’t listening to my teacher before?)
